Herpa Data Protection Statement
Herpa Miniaturmodelle GmbH takes data protection seriously. Its collection of your data takes place completely within the framework of statutory regulations. The collection of your data takes place within the framework of statutory data protection provisions. The following outlines exactly how the law applies in Herpa’s use of your personal data:

1. What is personal data?
Personal data is any data that can be used to clearly determine your identity. This includes details such as your (correct) name, address or telephone number, and your E-Mail address insofar as it contains your name, and consequently allows your identity to be determined. Information without any reference to name, e.g. only your age or only your sex, therefore does not constitute personal data.

2. For what purpose is personal data collected and stored?
In principal, using the online content of herpa.de does not require personal data to be revealed. herpa.de only collects your personal data when you avail yourself of services for which registration is obligatory – for example in placing an order at our eXtra-Shop. In so doing, herpa.de respects the principle of data economy, and only collects, processes and uses such personal data as is necessary for the provision of the respective service and its personalisation.

3. Protection of your personal data
Your personal data is stored by herpa.de on an especially secure server located in the Federal Republic of Germany, and is protected from unauthorized access by series-connected security systems. Staff at Herpa Miniaturmodelle GmbH and its system service providers test the efficacy of this protection on a daily basis. Herpa staff are duty-bound to not reveal any personal data collected. Without your express consent, Herpa will at no point pass on your personal data to a third party, unless:
•the transfer of data is necessary for the carrying out of a service of which you wish to avail yourself
•a sub-contractor commissioned in the scope of provision of products or services requires such data (sub-contractors are entitled to use such data insofar as it is necessary for the provision of the respective product or service. Herpa contractually binds its partners to adhering to data protection regulations)
•an enforceable, official or court directive has been issued

Here, the name of the accessed file, the date and time of its access, a description of the type of web browser used, data volume transferred, and a successful access message are stored. This data is generated when accessing any other website on the internet, and so does not constitute a special function of the Herpa websites. Storage is conducted for the purposes of data security, and analysis of this data is performed anonymously and for purely statistical purposes. This raw statistical data is deleted after190 days.
